Please note that only users with an administrative user role assigned will have access to editing the homepage.
Editing the Homepage
- To edit the Homepage, click on Content in the Drupal toolbar.
- Filter by content type of Homepage.
- Click to edit the Homepage.
- Once you have made your changes, make sure that the checkbox next to Published is selected, and click Save.
The homepage may contain a number of the following fields:
Title: This is the page title and should not be changed from “Homepage”.
▼ BANNER IMAGES WITH TITLE AND BUTTON LINK
- Image: This is the banner image that will be displayed.
- Link
- URL: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /node/add or an external URL such as http://example.com. Enter <front> to link to the front page. Enter <nolink> to display link text only.
- Link Text: This is the text which will be displayed.
- Title: This will be the text displayed on the button.
▼ CATEGORIZED CONTENT
Depending on whether Residents or Visitors are selected, the homepage banner will change.
- Image: This is the image that will display in the banner above the Residents or Visitors title and buttons.
- Caption: This is the image caption, typically used to credit the photographer.
- Heading: The text displayed above the Residents, or Visitors buttons. i.e. “How can we help?”
- Category: This is where the button text is defined, i.e. Residents.
▼ TILES
To edit each of the homepage icon tiles, click the Edit button to the right to expand the section, revealing the following fields:
- Icon: Find a Font Awesome icon
- Duotone Icons: Your site is designed to use duotone icons. To use the duotone version of an icon, select the Duotone button, and then copy the full icon class (e.g. fad fa-address-book).
- Paste the class text into the Icon field in Drupal.
- Link
- URL: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /node/add or an external URL such as http://example.com. Enter <front> to link to the front page. Enter <nolink> to display link text only.
- Link Text: This is the text which will be displayed.
You may rearrange the tiles using the crosshairs to the left of the Tile heading.
▼ CARDS
To edit each of the homepage cards, click the Edit button to the right to expand the section, revealing the following fields:
- Image: You may upload one image to this field, or select an existing image from the media library.
- Title: This is a short description of the feature. For example: “Snowfall update…”.
- Subheading: This is a short secondary heading displayed below the main title of the feature.
- Link
- URL: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /node/add or an external URL such as http://example.com. Enter <front> to link to the front page. Enter <nolink> to display link text only.
- Link Text: This is the text which will be displayed.
You may rearrange the cards using the crosshairs to the left of the Card heading.
▼ FOOTER CALLOUT
- Snippet: A brief statement can be added here.
- Link
- URL: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /node/add or an external URL such as http://example.com. Enter <front> to link to the front page. Enter <nolink> to display link text only.
- Link Text: This is the text which will be displayed.
Once you have filled out the above fields, make sure that the checkbox next to Published is selected, and click Save.
Editing Events, Alerts and News Displayed on the Homepage
The Events, Alerts and News displayed on the homepage are all managed through their own content types, which are then pulled to display on the homepage. For more information, see the Events, Alerts and News pages of this website guide.
