The Alert content type causes an alert message to be displayed above all pages of the website or just the homepage. It should be used sparingly, and be used for instances such as hazardous weather, health and safety measures etc.
Adding an Alert
Once logged in, from the Drupal Admin toolbar navigated to Content > Add Content > Alert.
Input the following fields:
- Title: Enter the Alert’s title.
- Alert Level: Select the level of the alert from the drop-down menu.
- Archived: Check this checkbox if you wish to archive the Alert.
- Snippet: Add any additional alert information in the body field. Please note that depending on the length of your content, you may only see a snippet in the alert. Users can view the full alert content by clicking More details which will take them to the alert node (page). Should you require More details to link to a URL other than the alert node, please contact Civikit support for assistance so that our team can set up a redirect.
- Content Rows: Visit Page content type to view a complete run-down of all Content Row options.
Additional Options
- Related Content: Allows to link content to an existing contact content type.
- Related Contact: This enables you to include information for a Contact relevant to the content.
- Optional Graphics: Include additional/optional graphics to the Alert.
- Icon: Click on the Font Awesome linked text under the field. Then search for the appropriate icon/style that you wish to use for the tile. Make sure to follow the formatting described in the reminder text under the Icon field.
- Image: Select or upload the image you wish to display.
Once you have filled out the above fields, make sure that the checkbox next to Published is selected, and click Save.
Editing an Alert
- To edit an Alert, click on Content in the Drupal toolbar.
- Filter by content type Alert.
- Click to edit the Alert.
- Once you have made your changes, make sure that Published is selected, and then click Save.
